Upper Arlington Schools have long been a source of pride for our community—reflecting a shared commitment to educational excellence, strong neighborhoods, and future-ready students.
In 2017, our community came together to support a long-term vision for our schools. That investment enabled the building of the new UAHS and renovation and rebuilding of our five elementary schools. Now, we are building on that foundation.
This next phase represents a continuation of this work— ensuring that all Upper Arlington students learn in environments consistent with the community’s standards of excellence and capable of supporting the skills, services, and flexibility that contemporary education demands.
Now we’re entering the next phase of our journey: rebuilding Jones and Hastings Middle Schools and Burbank Early Childhood School.
This growth will not be easy. Jones and Hastings are more than just buildings–they’ve been the backdrop for the advent of coming of age for generations of UA students. The memories we forged there will never fade, but the buildings themselves were built in a different time and for different styles of teaching and learning. Simply put: The buildings now fall far short of our collective standards.
Many months of community input, dialogue, and planning have produced a plan that will result in modern learning environments built for how kids learn today. You can review the current recommendation here.
The Upper Arlington Board of Education is expected to formally consider and approve a final plan in June/July 2026.
